    Picking my brain in public

Here’s where my blog finally posts in the manner that all OTHER blogs do:

    THE PERSONAL.

What’s it like inside my head/head?

Sorry you asked, but here goes:

Vampire Weekend, I like them.  I like them a lot.

So when they have a new video out, I’m naturally going to be predisposed to like it.

When it looks like the baby of Wes Anderson and Woody Allen, I’m going to like it even more.

    Have a look:

The song is “Oxford Comma” and the lovely band is Vampire Weekend. Love it: [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_i1xk07o4g%5D

Yeah all the blogs say it’s a definite nod to a Wes Anderson-esque film…but what is Wes if not a collection of other great directors?

    Here’s a clip from Wes Anderson’s awesome 2001 film “The Royal Tenenbaums”[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkXiQ2QcCjg&%5D

While the video is not in color (doesn’t feature children in go carts and the music of the a Garfunkle or a Strummer), it sent me to weekend in the Hamptons:

    Woody Allen’s 1980 “Stardust Memories”[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5V9_EVd67Q&%5D

Then I suppose one could also argue that Woody’s work too, is nothing but a wonderful mix of Fellini and Antonioni (oooh my heart is going to blow up!).

Directed by Federico Fellinin 1960’s “La Dolce Vita”[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_yA53yXrgY&%5D

Directed by Michelangelo Antonioni 1966 “Blow Up[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gU0t5irscFI&%5D

Maybe it’s just the way my brain and heart sorts things out.

I do love Vampire, Woody and Anderson…why wouldn’t it want them to merge in one warm hug of love in my mind?
